EducationPCC - BS, Physics
ExperienceOffering private tutoring since the fall of 2009, I can help in mathematics and physical sciences such as astronomy, physics, chemistry, and electrical and computer engineering. I tutor in elementary math as well but my clientele ranges up to the college level. Subjects I like to cover also include algebra, middle school math, trigonometry, and AP calculus. My style is not necessarily focused on getting correct answers all the time. I concentrate on developing an understanding and using learning methods the individual student can benefit most from. Everyone enjoys learning, I believe, but the academic environment and process is often stressful which makes it sometimes unpleasant to learn. My goal is for students to continue enjoy the learning process and succeed in school long after our tutoring sessions are over. I think if you take the anxiety away, the mind opens up and anything is possible.I studied electrical technology at Pasadena City College. For eight years, I worked as a docent, first at the California Science Center from 2002-2004 and now I work at the Griffith Observatory. I have had this role there since 2006. Currently residing in Studio City, California, I enjoy hiking, science, computers, and electronics in my spare time.
