Experience
My main focus is helping you set and reach your goals. Here are a few reasons why I am confident I can deliver results: - I scored a 522 (99th percentile) the first time taking the new Medical College Admission Test. Score breakdown: Chemical/Physical: 129, CARS: 130, Biological/Biochemical: 132, Psychological/Social: 131. This was August 2016, so I am still very fresh on the material. - I have over a year of SAT and ACT tutoring experience working one-on-one with 50+ high school students, figuring out how each one learns best and tailoring my teaching accordingly. - In 2 months of tutoring, I have helped a student improve from a 75th percentile composite ACT score to a 91st percentile score. I motivated him to improve his Math section score from the 46th percentile to the 93rd percentile. - I have excelled in graduate-level coursework in Molecular and Cellular Physiology, Metabolism and Endocrinology, Cardiopulmonary Biology, Genetics, Neurophysiology, Sexual Development and Reproduction, Medical Immunology and Microbiology, Gastrointestinal Biology, Renal Biology, Advanced Physiology and Pathophysiology. My goal as an MCAT, ACT, and science tutor is to increase the efficiency of my students’ studying by imparting the take-home messages and study themes that I had learned on my own through trial and error. I want to help my students build their analytical thinking skills, not memorize a long list of facts, so that they are prepared for any challenging problem they face in their studies.
