Hello! I have been an English Reading, Writing and Phonics tutor and teacher for over 15 years. I have worked with every grade level, from Pre-K through college, assisting students in all areas of English/ Literacy, from phonics to college essays. Since I taught college Composition for several years, I have first-hand knowledge of the types of essays and research papers high school and college instructors assign, in addition to teachers' expectations for student writing. I am also quite comfortable working with younger children, as I have been tutoring elementary students in Reading, Writing and Phonics for the past several years. With a Reading/Language Arts Specialist credential, Orton Gillingham Phonics training, and coursework in Educational Therapy, I am fully equipped to assist younger students with learning challenges. Moreover, I have experience teaching ESL, and I am aware of the specific challenges English language learners face with writing and speaking. I thoroughly enjoy working one-on-one with students, seeing their academic skills improve immensely and personal sense of confidence grow! I love tutoring, as it allows me to understand the unique challenges every child or adolescent faces academically. Through personal interaction, I can tailor my curriculum and lessons to meet the needs of my students.

Between spending time with my 8 and 10 year-old sons, I love to read, go to movies, and take a bike ride through the wonderful Bay Area landscape. Since one of my kids has learning challenges, I fully understand what it is like to be on the parent's end of bringing up a child with special needs.
