Experience

I attended college at the University of California-Davis. My main expertise as a tutor is working with special education students, particularly those with difficulties that are related to ADHD/ADD and ASD. In that regard, I am comfortable teaching subjects across the entire spectrum, from Math to English to Social Studies, as well as assisting students as they prepare for exams like the SAT and ACT. My strategy as a tutor is to make learning as fun as possible for the students. I do this by using interactive tools and hands-on activities that engage the students in the material. I like to foster a personal relationship with each of my students so that I can understand their strengths and weaknesses. Then I can tailor the lessons to what works best for them individually. My goal is not only to improve the students' grades and test scores but also instill them with confidence that they can carry forward. I have had great success with these techniques and get a tremendous deal of satisfaction from seeing my students achieve their academic goals. When I am not working as a tutor, I like to spend my free time reading, running, listening to music, and designing websites.
