Education

I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Cognitive Science (double major) from University of California Berkeley. I graduated in spring 2015 with a GPA of 3.5 (very high for math majors). I also participated in the Semester at Sea program in spring 2014, where I traveled around the world on a ship with 500 other college students from all over the world. I am planning on attending graduate school within the next year or two.

Experience

2200 SAT score, 33 ACT score, 335 GRE score I informally helped classmates and friends in my math classes, frequently led study groups I am educated in high-level mathematics, as well as in the psychology of learning. I have also worked on research that studied the plasticity of problem-solving skills. I want to be a tutor because I believe that math and science education are vitally important tools in the modern world, and that many students need individual attention and support in these areas. Often students are given the impression that some subjects are just too hard for them, or not worth learning, and I strongly believe that this is not the case.

Hobbies

I am applying for graduate schools this fall, intending to study human-animal relationships from a psychological standpoint. This is something that has interested me my whole life and seems very poorly understood. I love working with animals, traveling, drawing, watching foreign films, and trying new things. Currently, I am learning to cook and am considering taking dance lessons.
