Experience
I graduated from San Francisco State University in 2011 as a Master of Arts in English with a creative writing focus, and my thesis which was the novel, Charlie Six, was published by Poppynoir.com . Charlie Six, written under my nom de guerre, Brixton Key, garnered excellent reviews and was featured on NPR. I have worked as a features writer for the British music weekly, The Melody Maker, in publicity and promotion, and as the personal manager for the singer/songwriter/ actor, Chris Isaak. My command of the English language, especially in the written form has served me well throughout my career. Consequently I have always thoroughly enjoyed coaching people, especially students to enhance their writing skills. When I worked in the English tutoring center at SFSU students told me in the most elegant way that they were hopeless at writing, yet by helping to install thorough reading skills I found all the students I worked with patiently and uncritically were indeed more than capable of writing themselves into the university.
