Experience
Currently working as a private contractor in schools and homes. I work as a homeschool teacher, 1:1 teacher in school district with special cases, and after school tutoring. In addition I work for a company part time doing after school teaching. I teach thinking abilities and life skills through the use of strategy games to kids ages k-4th grade. From 2003-2008 I was a classroom teacher in a school that focused on experiential learning, hands on learning etc. Teachers created a lot of the curriculum, so I have a ton of experience doing so. I have a lot of books at various reading levels that I use for my work with children, as well as games and other materials. I see myself as ALWAYS working with children in some capacity. It's what I was born to do! I enjoy helping children see their own potential and successes. Being a part of helping a child build their confidence, see what they CAN do rather than just focusing on what they cannot do, and helping them achieve even the smallest milestones is a wonderful gift. I love being a teacher. Having the ability to work 1:1 allows me to really form relationships with children in a way that I wasnt able to fully do as a classroom teacher- I am really loving this!

Hobbies
When I'm not working with children, I spend time with my husband, two dogs and cat. I enjoy making crafty things for friends and occasionally to decorate our house. I also enjoy going to science museums (the ones where you can play with the exhibits!), baseball games, go camping, exploring different parts of San Francisco (being a tourist-always something we haven't done), spending time with friends, and occasionally adding some flowers or plants to our small garden.
