Experience
Hi there! I am a recent Stanford graduate and would like to offer my tutoring services to the community. I have seven years of experience tutoring students from elementary school through college, and served as the Resident Tutor in a freshman dorm on campus. I specialize in chemistry, math, and physics--those daunting classes that you might dread. My guiding philosophy is to help you help yourself. Everyone has a different learning style, and passively listening to your teacher in a room of 30 (or 300) people might not be for you. I try to help my students frame tricky concepts in ways they can relate to, because I think we learn best when we can find a personal connection with the material. I graduated from Stanford in 2014 with a BS in Chemical Engineering with honors. In high school, I competed on the US National Chemistry Olympiad team in Tokyo, earning a silver medal. Currently, I am a developer for an aerial imaging startup in San Francisco that helps farmers in the Central Valley reduce their water use. I offer a free consultation session, where we can assess if my tutoring style works well for you. My schedule is quite flexible, and I can meet you wherever is convenient. Look forward to hearing from you!
