Experience
After I received my Bachelor of Arts in English Literature at Oberlin College, I enrolled in San Francisco State University to work on my Master's of Science in Physics. Prior to beginning at SFSU, I tutored English in Panama with the United States Peace Corp. I enjoyed seeing the results of a good education at work amongst the students of Panama. When I moved to San Francisco-Bay Area, I immediately began helping students prepare for their SAT. My students and I build a strong connection while we work together to improve their test results. We share a common goal with only their best interests in mind. I have also helped students improve their understanding of calculus, Spanish, geometry, physics, pre-calculus, and ESL/ELL. I am knowledgeable of the SAT and ACT Subject Tests. My students excel in the subjects as we work through them together. While I am most passionate about science and mathematics, I am skilled in English and literature as well. I learned early on how important education is, as well as how many benefits it can truly provide. I seek to offer the same open doors as I had. During my down time, I write fictional stories, play guitar and bass, and play chess.
