Experience

Private Physics and Math Tutor Sept 2014 to Present IN PERSON AND SKYPE TUTORING AVAILABLE! 1. Tutoring of physics with calculus from kinematics up to special relativity, all levels of Math I know how difficult learning physics with calculus and mathematics can be on your own. I would like to ease that difficulty by helping my students become fully independent thinkers. Classes taken: I received my Master's of Science in Physics from San Francisco State University, May 2017. I have studied upper division classes such as mechanics, theoretical physics, modern physics, thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, electrodynamics, solid-state physics and quantum mechanics. I have taken computational physics which has allowed me to use Python, C, MATLAB and Mathematica. I have written script using Python and C for error analysis, numerical integration and differentiation, Mathematica for multi-body simulation, a partial differentiation equation solver, and chaos theory. I also have the ability to work with Comsol Multiphysics, an advanced software platform for modeling and simulating problems in physics. I have also completed the lower division chemistry-major’s sequence of courses and The American Chemical Society (ACS) exam. Other Experience: Currently I am working in Dr. Chen’s Quantum Optics research lab at SFSU (http://www.physics.sfsu.edu/~laser/people.html). I have been exploring Soliton-mediated orientational ordering of gold nanorods and birefringence in plasmonic suspensions, due to plasmonic resonant solitons in metallic nanosuspensions, and optical trapping (optical tweezers). I have recently published two papers in Optics Letters. The titles are “Soliton-mediated orientational ordering of gold nanorods and birefringence in plasmonic suspensions,” and “Guiding and nonlinear coupling of light in plasmonic nanosuspensions.” I have presented on this work twice at the CLEO optics convention in San Jose CA.
