I have been tutoring English, especially test preparation classes since 1991, when I began teaching in Greece; Have taught History at New College of California, "From Berlin Bohemia to Hitler:The Weimar Republic's Crisis Democracy & the Emergence of German Fascism 1918-1933" [Spring semester 2005]; "The Virulent Phoenix: The Rise of Fascism in Europe" [Autumn 2005]; "From Myth to Mind" [Autumn 1998]; Regarding ESL English and English test preparation, I have taught at Intrax International Institute for over 12 years and at nearly a dozen other ESL schools in both the U.S. (San Francisco) and Greece (Samos). Scored a 5 out of 5 in Advanced Placement English. I am simply am excellent instructor, and many students have considered me the best teacher they have ever had. Have studied with some marvelous teachers: the American poets Robert Duncan, David Meltzer, Diane Di Prima; the German historian George Mosse; American historian Harvey Goldberg; German Prof. and founder of New German Critique, David Bathrick; Continental Philosophy professor Ivan Soll...to name a few For the teaching of English literature the most incredible and relevant class I took was Robert Duncan's class at New College on Ezra Pound and William Carlos Williams. In German literature, Ilona Van der Griff's class on the History of German (delivered in German) and Prof. Juretzka's class on German Baroque literature stand out. I am widely published. Editor-in-Chief/Director of Research of the Walter Benjamin Research Syndicate at http://www.wbenjamin.org/walterbenjamin.html. I have delivered talks on Walter Benjamin at the Benjamin Conference at the University of Amsterdam in 1997. In 2012, I was official translator of German at the San Francisco International Poetry Festival; my translation of Goethe was published by City Lights in San Francisco in 1988, and it was in print for over 20 years. I have worked as a professional copy-editor and proofreader with a law firm and with publishing houses.
