Experience
I have experience tutoring at an undergraduate level for the Evergreen State College. I aided students in the Introduction to Natural Sciences program during the 2014-2015 academic school year. My responsibilities included off-hours tutoring and support to students working with general chemistry in this introductory level program. I supported students in equipping them with the conceptual, methodological and quantitative tools that arise in a variety of scientific disciplines, specifically using the model and tools of chemistry. I helped students with homework and workshop problems, studying techniques and lab preparation. My studies over the last year and a half have been exclusively focused on organic chemistry and the molecular and cellular biology of microorganisms, with a special focus on plant biology and mycology. I have experience in research design, instrumentation and a multitude of skills in both chemistry and biology lab settings. The process of teaching is a process of relearning for myself. In attempting to convey subject material to the tutee, I personally gain new or greater insight into the subjects or methods being taught.
