Experience

I've been tutoring K-12 students 1-on-1 for 8 years, and have worked with more than 20 students on math, sciences, and standardized tests. My Scores: SAT Math - 800/800 SAT Writing - 800/800 SAT Readimg - 710/800 ACT - 35/36 GMAT - 770/800 5/5 in AP Calc BC, AP Statistics, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP English Language, AP World History, AP US Government Why I Tutor: To me this is the most important section if you're looking for a tutor. Having high test scores is a good qualification, but that alone isn't enough to make an effective tutor. Good tutors have to love learning, but they have to love seeing someone else learn even more. They have to be smart, but have to be even better at communicating concepts to others. I've tutored enough kids to know that there isn't a one size fits all approach to tutoring, and I love the challenge of figuring out what works for each unique student. And so far I've been lucky to work with promising students that we've always been able to get results. Finally, I'm a tutor who's always going to try to become friends with the kids I tutor. Most likely we aren't going to go see movies together, but I want any kid I tutor to be comfortable texting me at 9 with a question (and that's happened before). I'm definitely a kid at heart and I think that's important in a tutor - your want someone who kids respect but also someone who makes a student feel comfortable. Give me a call at 614.440.3465 to set up a session! I am willing to negotiate the rates for longer tutoring commitments (10+ total hours)
