I have my BA in English Literature with a minor in French from Northwestern University where I graduated suma cum laude in 2015. I was also named one of two Daniel Bonbright scholars (2/2000) for excellent achievement in English Literature. After finishing at Northwestern, I came home to California where I received my Masters in English Education from the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) ('16).

Experience

I tutored for 2 years at AJ Tutoring in Menlo Park, and I taught 10th grade English for a year before that at Santa Cruz High. I am passionate about the value of analytical skills and the confidence that reading and writing skills can bring to young people. I specialize in short fiction and poetry as an entrance into literary concepts and strategies, and am adept at Essay structure and revision.

Hobbies

In addition to being a tutor, I am a poet and songwriter. This passion ties in well with my love for literature and writing. It also gives me a lot to talk about with my students. I try to incorporate creative and modern source texts into my lessons as often as possible.
