Experience
Hi, I'm Alex. I have been studying physics and math for over ten years now, and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's from Haverford College and with a PhD from UCLA. I have continued so long in these fields because I really enjoy learning and I want to bring that love of learning to you. I often have fun facts that I like to throw in as asides, to connect what we are working on to the real world. I prefer to teach the understanding of the material rather than just how to get the answer, which I believe leads to better performance. I take pride in my students doing well and hope that I can help you too! I have also been tutoring in both one-on-one and group sessions for over ten years, and was even a teacher assistant at UCLA for E&M. I started teaching kids math in elementary school but now teach mostly high school and college students. I teach mostly calculus and physics, but am happy to teach algebra, pre-calc, and chemistry as well. Test Scores: 990 Physics subject GRE 5 on Calc B/C AP 800 Math SATII
