With more than a decade of teaching experience, I bring a range of skills to the classroom. I have been a private tutor for students ranging in age from 8 to 25. Currently, I teach critical thinking at San Francisco State but I have also taught at major test prep centers such as Elite and C2, private high schools, after-school programs, and as a personal tutor for foreign exchange students. I am friendly, personable, kind, considerate, reliable. Before becoming a teacher, I worked as a journalist for several years, winning four press association awards and contributing freelance articles for publications such as The Washington Post and International Herald Tribune. In college, I was on the international debate team, partaking in the World Championship tournament, North American Championship tournament and a tour of Japan. My wife is a Chinese teacher and with her assistance I have been making strides in Mandarin Chinese, receiving a Critical Language Scholarship from the State Department to study in China for two months this summer.
